AI Survey and Report

As part of our work on AI in SAR, the IMRF conducted an AI Survey, which received over 60 responses from organisations across the maritime SAR sector. The survey data is currently being compiled into a report, which will be presented during a session at the IMRF Conference in France, this November.

Early findings show growing interest in AI across the SAR community, with organisations exploring its potential to support search planning, training, and decision-making. While operational use remains limited, momentum is clearly building.

We are also inviting practical case studies from organisations currently trialling or using AI. Selected examples will be featured alongside IMRF’s first global benchmark report on AI in maritime SAR, to be presented at the IMRF Conference in November 2026.
